La Ville-Lumèire

I recently took a three day trip to Paris by myself. It went smoothly but of course it was a bit strange traveling alone. This was my first time being a solo traveler. I have been to Paris before in 2011 and I wasn't really a fan but this time was different because I took the time to really appreciate what I was doing. Paris is a big city but without much of the hustle and bustle that one would experience in a place like London. It is very relaxed for such a big place.

My first day in Paris I visited Versailles which I got into for free because I am a UK citizen. It was amazing to realize people actually lived in this luxury especially when some couldn't afford to eat. There was an option to take a train around the gardens which I didn't end up doing and I kind of regret that but I feel like I will be back one day and will be able to seize the opportunity. Then I went to Montmartre which I found by memory which isn't saying much but I am proud of myself none the less. I visited the Salvador Dali museum which was amazing. I then went to Sacré- Coeur to see Paris from it's tallest point. It is especially nice at night when the whole city is light up. I then went back to my hostel, Peace&Love, to have some beers with my temporary room mates. Not sure if I would stay in this hostel again. I was nice and small and clean but I left with some bites on my back which kind of freaked me out.

The next day I went on a bike tour with Fat Tire Bike tours which was super fun and I recommend it. It is a great way to see Paris. The tour guide was super informative which is what I look for in a tour guide haha. He was also super funny and used to live in Liverpool so we had fun trying to imitate the Scouse accent. After the bike tour I went shopping and out for supper with a girl I had met from Michigan. I wanted to try frog legs but changed my mind last second. Next time, France, next time.

You're still a wizard, Harry.

Originally I was going to lump all of my London trip 2013/14 photos together in my last post but I decided it would be much better if I made a separate entry about Harry Potter studios -round two! My friends are big Harry Potter fans so I knew that they would naturally want to go to the studios. I was okay with this of course but was a little but worried it might be boring the second time especially since I had been so recently. Boy, was I wrong! It was even better the second time as I noticed things I hadn't before. Also, there was a winter theme and I got to witness fake snow during part of the visit.  I think my favorite aspect was seeing my friends react to the whole thing- especially the double decker bus we took from London to HP. We bought a picture of us driving the Weasley's car. So without further ado her is Harry Potter Pictures round two! (Photos taken by me, Rachel, Katelyn, Kalie, and Sam)
P.S. Butterbeer tastes just as good the second time.
